The mission of the Brethren in Christ Historical Society is to nurture understanding and appreciation of the historical, theological, and contemporary life and thought of the Brethren in Christ and related groups. Since its founding in 1978, the Society’s vision has been to emphasize the study of the past as a guide to the present and future.

The Society seeks to fulfill its mission and vision through a variety of publications and events, including our journal, Brethren in Christ History and Life; a newsletter, “History Matters”; an annual meeting focused on a specific theme or issue; and an annual heritage service at the historic Ringgold Meetinghouse in Ringgold, Maryland.
