Today’s Photo Friday highlights an important event in the life of the Valley Chapel Church in North Canton, Ohio: the groundbreaking for a new Sunday school annex, constructed in 1954. Here’s how one congregational correspondent described the day:

Easter Sunday was a milestone at Valley Chapel as the congregation met on the north side of the church for the ground-breaking ceremonies of their new Sunday school building. It was completed sufficiently to provide six large rooms for the summer Bible school held in June. The average attendance was 99 in this evening Bible school.
