Wendy Urban-Mead is associate professor of history at Bard College, Annandale-on-Hudson, NY. She has researched and written extensively on the Brethren in Christ Church in Zimbabwe and is the author of The Gender of Piety: Family, Faith, and Colonial Rule in Matabeleland, Zimbabwe (Ohio University Press, 2015).
