Sixteenth-Century Anabaptists Now On Twitter

Here’s a follow-up to my recent post on whether or not I should tweet H. Frances Davidson’s missionary journals. It seems that two of the Brethren in Christ’s spiritual forefathers — Menno Simons and George Blaurock — are now sharing their thoughts on this social networking site.

For those of you who don’t know, Simons was a sixteenth-century Anabaptist reformer whose followers became known as the Mennonites. Blaurock predated Simons, working alongside two other early Anabaptists — Conrad Grebel and Felix Manz — to establish the Swiss Brethren.

I’m really appreciating the quotes Simons has been tweeting. Here’s my favorite: “Christ’s sheep hear his voice. True Christians believe and obey.”
